The Strike Industries JCOMP Gen2 is an advanced hybrid of a muzzle brake and compensator, designed specifically for the AR-15 platform in .223 Remington / 5.56 NATO caliber with a standard 1/2x28" thread. Designed based on proven military solutions from the Japanese Type 89 assault rifle, this compensator strikes a perfect balance between recoil reduction, flash suppression, and modern tactical modularity.
Legendary Design in Gen2 Edition – Type 89 Rifle Construction
The JCOMP Gen2 compensator is a modernized and significantly improved version of one of the most highly regarded muzzle devices from the American manufacturer Strike Industries. The inspiration for the internal chamber geometry came from the design used by the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force in Howa Type 89 rifles.
The Generation 2 version features an advanced, two-chamber design and an optimized arrangement of side and top ports, which translates to:

This model features the classic American 1/2"x28 TPI thread, making it directly compatible with the barrels of most AR-15 family rifles. Despite its armored, steel construction, the compensator weighs only 101 g, so it doesn't weigh down the front of the weapon and allows for quick target transitions.
An additional advantage for professionals and those building rifles according to strict guidelines is the pre-drilled pinhole. This allows for permanent pinning and welding (Pin & Weld) of the device on short barrels (e.g., 14.5 inches) to safely and legally achieve the required overall barrel length.

The JCOMP Gen2 is not only an excellent standalone compensator but also a base for advanced muzzle gas management systems. The external design of the device is fully compatible with Strike Industries Oppressor blast shields / blast diffusers and FerFrans systems.
