PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Do you want to drastically reduce the recoil and muzzle rise of your AK carbine to shoot faster and more accurately? The Strike Industries JCOMP Gen2 is an advanced muzzle device designed specifically for the 7.62x39 mm AK/AKM platform with a classic 14-1 LH left-hand thread. Based on proven military solutions from the Japanese Type 89 assault rifle, this compensator strikes an ideal balance between recoil reduction, flash suppression, and modern tactical modularity.
Legendary design in Gen2 version – Type 89 rifle construction
The JCOMP Gen2 compensator is a modernized and significantly improved version of one of the most highly regarded muzzle devices from the American manufacturer Strike Industries. The inspiration for the internal chamber geometry came from the design used by the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force in the Howa Type 89 rifles.
The Generation 2 version features an optimized arrangement of side and top ports, which translates into:
-
Extreme reduction of longitudinal recoil, facilitating stable weapon retention in the shooting position,
-
Effective elimination of muzzle flip, which is crucial for dynamic double-taps in IPSC / 3-Gun sports competitions,
-
Partial dispersion of muzzle flash, preventing shooter blinding in low visibility conditions.
Perfect fit for AK standard and low weight
This model is equipped with traditional cut-outs for the detent pin of AK/AKM rifle front sights, ensuring proper positioning and preventing loosening due to vibrations. It features a classic 14x1 LH (14-1 Left Hand) left-hand thread, making it directly compatible with the barrels of most AK family carbines (including Polish designs like Jack, WBP Rogów). Despite its robust steel construction, the compensator weighs only 100g, so it doesn't add excessive weight to the front of the weapon and allows for quick target transitions.
Future-proof modularity – Compatibility with SI Oppressor
The JCOMP Gen2 is not just an excellent standalone compensator, but also a base for advanced muzzle gas management systems. The external design of the device is fully compatible with Strike Industries Oppressor blast shields / gas simulators and FerFrans systems. In a split second, without the need for tools, you can transform your open sports compensator into a closed tactical device that directs the entire blast wave and sound forward, protecting the hearing and comfort of shooters standing next to you on the range.
Shotworks tip: Installation on a standard AKM 14x1 LH thread is very simple, however, the AK platform is known for its rather loose factory barrel thread tolerances. When screwing on the JCOMP Gen2, make sure that the detent pin in the front sight base engages one of the dedicated cutouts on the compensator collar, locking the device with its vertical ports pointing perfectly upwards. If, after locking with the pin, you feel minimal axial play (so-called "wobble"), which is normal for the AK platform, you can use dedicated crush washers or gunsmith shims to perfectly tighten the compensator to the muzzle face and ensure axial alignment with the bore.
