Classic wooden or factory plastic AK handguards severely limit weapon configuration options. The B5 Systems AKM handguard redefines this space by introducing integrated M-LOK® mounting slots. This gives you complete freedom to install essential tactical equipment – flashlights, laser target designators (AN/PEQ), front grips, side grips (handstops), or Picatinny rail sections, while maintaining a minimalist and streamlined weapon profile.
Complete hand protection: Steel heat shield and aggressive texture
Intense firing from AK carbines generates massive amounts of heat on the barrel and gas tube, often making continued operation impossible without thick gloves. B5 Systems engineers solved this problem by integrating an advanced stainless steel heat shield within the polymer construction. The shield effectively reflects and dissipates heat, protecting the shooter's hand from burns. Additionally, the bottom and side parts of the handguard feature an aggressive anti-slip texture, which ensures a secure and stable grip on the weapon – even when operating in rain, mud, or with sweaty hands.
Ultra-lightweight military-spec composite (Made in USA)
The handguard was entirely manufactured in the USA from an advanced technical composite material (reinforced polymer). This material is resistant to cracks, impacts, and extreme temperatures, while maintaining a spectacularly low weight – the entire component weighs only 80 grams, so it doesn't weigh down the front of the weapon and allows for rapid target transitions.
