The key advantage of the Smart-Fit block is its uncompromising versatility. Traditional gunsmithing blocks often fail to hold dimensions, risking damage to the magazine well if tightened too much. Real Avid's tool solves this problem: simply insert the block into the magazine well and turn the ergonomic adjustment handle. The smooth screw mechanism expands the internal wedge, ensuring a perfect, tight, and 100% secure fit of the block walls with the inside of the trigger housing. An enlarged base edge (collar) ensures precise and repeatable seating of the structure.
Maximum work ergonomics and stability in the vise
The lower part of the block features a deep, knurled texture, which drastically increases the grip of workshop vise jaws. This prevents the entire assembly from shifting, even under high pressure during buffer tube installation, recoil spring replacement, or castle nut tightening. The thoughtful profile also allows the block to be seated in an inverted position (upside down), which provides free access to the underside of the rifle, facilitating precise replacement of pistol grips or installation of sport trigger mechanisms.
