The Real Avid Smart Bench Block is an intelligently designed, universal gunsmithing block made of ultra-durable industrial resin and covered with non-slip rubber. Stability and protection for your weapon's finish
Unlike traditional, hard steel or nylon blocks that can permanently scratch bluing, Cerakote® coating, or a polymer pistol frame, the Smart Bench Block is designed for maximum protection. The outer ring and working surface are covered with a specialized, shock-absorbing non-slip rubber (Overmolding). This prevents the block from sliding on the workbench when struck by a gunsmith's hammer and stabilizes immobilized gun components, ensuring precision and safety during work.

Real Avid engineers are well aware of the realities of working with firearms, which is why they have equipped the block with a number of innovative solutions that drastically improve the gunsmithing process:

6 technical holes of various diameters – strategically placed to allow pins of any thickness to fall freely (from small Glock trigger pins to AR-15 trigger mechanism pins),

Longitudinal stabilizing groove – perfectly contoured for round surfaces, allowing secure seating of a rifle or pistol barrel and preventing it from rotating when driving out gas block pins,

Built-in neodymium magnet – hidden inside the structure under the holes. No more crawling on the floor searching for lost parts! The magnet immediately grabs and securely "catches" any metal pin or dowel as soon as it is driven out.
Dedicated wrench for the legendary 11 platform
A hidden advantage of the block on its reverse side is the built-in Government Barrel Bushing Wrench dedicated to Colt 1911 platform pistols. This tool allows for quick and effortless rotation and unlocking of the barrel bushing during pistol field stripping for cleaning, eliminating the need for a separate, dedicated wrench in your shooting bag.
